DONNA became a participant in the booth of Ukrainian designers at the winter Maison&Objet 2023, presenting the white RAFT sofa. It was he who became the most hospitable meeting place at the Ukrainian MOM stand. In addition, the white RAFT corresponded as best as possible to the style and scenography of the designer-architect Oksana Shumelda.
To draw the attention of visitors to the fact that all this design and technology was born in Ukraine during wartime, Oksana Shumelda outlined the concept of the stand as “L’art de la résilience” – which in French means “The art of resistance”.
The Ukrainian stand became a place of warm meetings at Maison&Objet this year. Female architects, who temporarily left for Europe during the war, came to the space of “L’art de la résilience” to embrace the manufacturers who steadfastly continue their activities in the Motherland.
An incredible atmosphere of reunion and support. Creative, elevated, victorious mood. All this gave a special meaning to each item presented at the stand.
At this moment, all objects of the stand turned into flagships of Ukrainian design. They caused an unconditional excitement among all the guests of the exhibition: Europeans, Americans, Japanese. After all, design speaks in an understandable language.
Immediately after Maison&Objet, the RAFT sofa went to the Parisian department store LE BHV MARAIS for a week-long exhibition of Ukrainian interior items. A week later, he went to the warehouse in Milan to wait for the Salone del Mobile exhibition. And the Suminagashi tables went to the Netherlands to the store of Ukrainian designers and manufacturers Nothingbasic.com.
